Mon dernier jour à Paris

Well it's our last day in Paris and what a week. We hit all the major sights and today we topped our trip off with a visit to the louvre. We didn't get out of the hotel until noon, and we stopped at Mcdonnalds for a quick bite. I know why would we go to McDonalds in paris, well we needed something quick and so far our experience has taught us that sitting down to eat here is an hour or two event. So after a burger and a quick metro ride we were there. We were greeted by IM Pei's inverted Glass pyramid.



I am a fan of the Davinci code, so it was really neat to see that. There is so much to see, you could spend a week there and only begin to scratch the surface of what the Louvre has to offer. First stop, Winged victory, then The Mona Lisa and then the Venus de Milo.






After seeing the big three pieces, we spent another 3 hours strolling though Egyptian artifacts, and other works from master painters. So after about 4 hours I was art'ed out and headed off on my own. I strolled though old Paris where buildings that were so old housed modern stores like the gap. Funny how here the old and new mix do well together here; on one side of the street a 1000 year old church, on the other starbucks. Shortly after my walk I got cought in the rain, isn't there a song about that? It didn't even seem to phase the locals, they kept on with there day, if that was Vegas the city would of come to a halt. On the way back to my hotel I stumble onto Rue Nicholas Flamel, who anyone who has read Harry Potter would know, was real and lived on that very street.



Had I not just been out wandering the streets of Paris I would never have found it.

So my last piece of advice for anyone visiting Paris: if you are in a hurry running from one Paris landmark to another, you will miss seeing Paris.
